Details - Our group will have exclusive access to the Museum where never-seen-before items and artworks from one of the UK's most beloved author illustrators will feature, in the part of East Sussex where he made his home. As well as his drawings, hand-lettered typography and page designs from his earliest commissions, we will also view items and objects that surround Briggs at home such as his writing and drawing desk. We will hear a fascinating talk by the Museum Director and Chief Executive, Steph Fuller, providing a unique insight into the exhibition. Tea, coffee and delicious local cake will be provided as part of our visit and we have a chance to visit the museum's award-winning shop.
Raymond Briggs was, and still is, viewed as one of the most exceptional draughtsmen and storytellers that this country has produced, with innovative journeys of both the magical and seemingly mundane, from monsters, flying snowmen, and miniscule humans, to heartfelt relationships, real-life war and a hard-working Father Christmas. This is a lovely pre-holiday outing not to be missed before the exhibition closes.
