75th Anniversary Outdoor Education & Adventure centre appeal

About the Appeal

In celebration of our 75th anniversary at Marden Park this year, we have devised an outdoor education development plan for our whole site which will include our new outdoor adventure and education centre.

It will feature a low and high ropes course, double zip wire, a climbing tower with dedicated zip wire, a nature trail through the trees and at ground level, bushcraft area, wildlife habitats and outdoor classroom. In addition, there will be a Jacob’s Ladder, Leap of Faith and Stacking Crates challenge activities, a hanging camp in the trees, an ability rig to provide access for all abilities and much more.

The project will not only create a new outdoor adventure and education facility for the school as an enhanced co-curricular educational tool, it will also serve to better manage the designated woodland area, allowing new tree growth, removal of ground debris and diseased trees as well as creating a better habitat for wildlife.

More information

We are extremely grateful to an alumna who has been invested in the project since its inception, allowing us to move from concept to reality with her generous support. She has donated 50% of the build cost. Additional funds raised will allow us to build the project to the highest level. We ask for your help to achieve this.

You can offer your support by ‘Naming a Tree’ for just £75.

Each donation will be recognised with a personalised tree tag with your name or family name and will be placed at eye level on the high ropes, low ropes and zip wire courses, so the students will be able to see their name or family name as they negotiate the different elements of the course.

We are hoping as many parents, families and alumnae will participate. If we can name all 300 trees, we would reach our target for this project.

There are also opportunities to name some of the larger elements, allowing us to reach our target more quickly. This is perhaps an opportunity for your year group to collaborate and we will mark your support with a wooden plaque, ‘donated by Class of XXXX’, for example:

  • Eco Loo No.2 (!) = £750
  • Hanging camp tented hammock = £375 each (5 available)
  • High ropes course - £3,750
  • Climbing Tower - £7,500
