Parents, grandparents and staff enjoyed a relaxing social and creative day making beautiful wreaths and floral masterpieces on Friday 9 December. As part of our 180 Giving Day challenges, well over 18.0 floral creations were successfully created.

In the morning the Festive Wreath Making Workshop led by parent Rachel Prime, showed us how to create the perfect wreath to decorate the front door. Using green and variagated holly and white or black berried ivy from the beautiful grounds here at Marden Park, along with scented eucalyptus, spruce, cinnamon sticks and frosted fruit, the finished wreaths looked stunning.

Those who were joining both sessions enjoyed lunch in the dining hall before continuing on to the Christmas Floral Workshop in the afternoon, led by former member of staff Judy Brown.  We gained new skills learning how to prepare and arrange sumptuous red roses and winter foliage to create a stunning Christmas table centre piece, complete with pillar candle to decorate the table during the festive season.

With both sessions accompanied by soothing Christmas music and a glass of sparkling fizz, it was the perfect start to the festive seasion and the countdown to Christmas.
